These illustrations reflect my thoughts on some of my favorite self-care books that I’ve read recently: Habits of a Happy Brain by Loretta Graziano Breuning, The Source by Tara Swart, and Mind Magic by James R. Doty.
It has been a year since I started freelancing, and during this time, I’ve focused a lot on self-care to restore my nervous system. After working for ten years as a guide and educator at the National Art Museum, I often felt drained by being around large groups of people.
Now, a year later, I feel lighter and more balanced. Books on brain neuroplasticity, happiness hormones, and the power of compassion have played a huge role in this transformation, helping me regain my energy.
